Quality and Accreditation
Committed to Quality and Accountability
At Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana (BCBSMT), we are proud to serve our members. We stand by our word and our commitment to you. And in doing so, we seek accreditation that backs up our words with measurable results.
In August 2015, after a rigorous 24-month process, BCBSMT met the Utilization Review Accountability Commission’s (URAC) accreditation standards for our retail and commercial lines of business.
We’re especially proud of our work on this because URAC is a leader in the accreditation of health and managed care organizations. The URAC accreditation process demonstrates a commitment to quality services and serves as a framework to improve business processes through benchmarking organizations against nationally recognized standards.
So why does this matter for our members, and what does it mean? In essence, it means we are committed to quality and accountability.
Fortunately, accreditation is a process that doesn’t end simply because we earned a stamp of approval. In a few years, we will do this all over again. And to succeed once again, we’ll need to keep meeting the standards set out before us and anticipate new standards yet to exist. This continual process of quality health care through constant evaluation is what drives BCBSMT.
